July Meeting at The Woman’s Club of Topeka

July Meeting at The Woman’s Club of Topeka

Our July Meeting kicked off with some excitement regarding in-person activities we were finally able to hold!

Our Activities for July

It was exciting to members for in-person activities to occur at the Woman’s Club this summer.  Click on the links below to read more about each of these events:

Theft

Unfortunate activities happened at the club this summer, too. Five of the seven air conditioner condensers were stolen, and the other two condensers were disconnected but not taken.

This resulted in our buying five new units and cages to put around them.  We plan to add lights and cut down trees to make the area more visible from the road and parking lot.

Activities and other meetings were halted due to the lack of air conditioning.

As a result of getting things fixed, we were happy to be able to open up again after the July meeting.

Vandalism

We also had graffiti in the same area.  We were happy to know the City of Topeka has a unit that removes the graffiti, and the technician did a great job.

Thankfully, we also were fortunate to work with Blue Dot and Cincinnati Insurance Company purchased through People Insurance.  Both were responsive to our situation and our air conditioner condensers with cages were installed within a week.

Meeting Plans Going Forward

Now that things are fixed and back on track, we’ll continue to have our general meetings and events.  Our upcoming Fall Coffee is a great example of an event that members and guests of members can come to the Woman’s Club to meet officers and find out more about the activities and groups we offer.
